Scott “KiD CuDi” Mescudi will always be entrenched in music and fashion but since he’s acquired the acting bug virus, it behooves him to keep his options open.
His latest gig will undoubtedly delight fans of racing flicks and video games alike. Since 1994, the term Need for Speed has been synonymous with driving simulators and following the success of every good game title, Hollywood is next to follow.
The script seems to follow the same trouble-follows-the-hero-everywhere hodgepodge all racing thrillers employ, but it goes without saying that the Fast & Furious franchise isn’t a billion dollar enterprise for the tear-inducing dramatics.
Fans are familiar with the lead Aaron Paul for his role as conflicted drug dealer, Jesse Pinkman from the Emmy Award vacuum series, Breaking Bad. Alongside Mescudi, his goal in the movie appears to be driving for the green, the girl and the glory.
Typical, yes. But the potential for excitement outweighs any potential predictability.
