Since Fox is planning to create a show based on Dwyane Wade and his family, it will probably be best if they had some in appealing inspiration to draw from. Leave up to one of the NBA’s most notable father figures to meet the request and ensure the Wade name lives on the NBA hardwood.

As the Miami Heat prep the uphill battle of the regular season (where they currently hold a record of 9-3), Dwayne took time out of his schedule to conduct workouts with his eldest son, Zaire.

On his Instagram account, the reigning NBA champion posted, “Late night workout for my lil man.. #HeGotNext.” Mixing football sled resistance training with basketball suicides, the two engaged in an intense workout that should pay off down the line. “They learn by watching you…You must to show them the way.. #HeGotNext,” D-Wade continued in another photo.

Even with the obvious factors of name recognition and nepotism, going to the league from favors isn’t a given. Hall of Famers such as Michael Jordan and Patrick Ewing both had sons who aimed to play professionally but the dream was never fully materialized.

Fatherhood is something Wade takes very seriously. He famously went through a very public custody battle over his kids with ex-wife, Siovaughn and the All-Star guard authored a best-selling book titled A Father First. Fox Studios have announced their intent to create a sitcom based on the details in the biography.

Hit the gallery to see pics (and video) of Wade training his son “the hard way.” With a work ethic like that, the sky’s the limit for young Zaire.
