Just as the Super Bowl festivities are starting to partake, one former Super Bowl champ has been hit with rape charges.  Retired Dallas Cowboys wide receiver and NFL Hall Of Famer Michael Irvin has been accused of rape and sued by a woman for an alleged July 2007 sexual assault.

According to The Miami Herald, Irvin got the accused rape victim drunk when he and an accomplice demanded she perform sexual acts.

She also claims in the lawsuit that Derrick Irvin, Michael’s brother, held her down and covered her mouth while the former NFL superstar raped her.  After the alleged rape, Derrick allegedly then forced her to have oral sex.

No criminal charges have been filed but the Broward State Attorney’s Office has been investigating the case and a conclusion is expected next week.

Since his retirement, Michael Irvin currently hosts a talk show on ESPN Radio 103.3 in Dallas and works as a television analyst for the NFL Network.

Irvin and a Dallas Cowboy teammate were also accused of raping a woman in 1996 during a cocaine binge although the story turned out to be a fabrication after the investigation.
