The Amazing Spider-Man turned out to be a pretty good reboot of the franchise after Tobey Maguire’s dancing relegated the previous incarnation to struggle status. We now have the official trailer for the sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and with new villains like Electro, Harry Osborne and Rhino, it’s looking like a worthy follow up.
The trailer begins with Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) sullenly contemplating the irony of the more people he saves, the more supervillains will come out the woodwork aiming for his demise. In the clip that would be Jamie Foxx as Electro, Paul Giamatti as Rhino and Harry Osborne, who will surely make an appearance as the Green Goblin (looks like that’s him getting kicked by Spider around the 1:50 mark).
Look close and you will also catch Doctor Octopus’ arms, so it looks like the Sinister Six will be on deck sooner than later. The best part of the trailer is Spider-Man battling Electro near it’s conclusion, though.
Unfortunately, we have to wait until May 2, 2014 to watch The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in theaters. Watch the official trailer below.
