50 Cent has been quiet on the music front for a while, but the savvy entrepreneur continues to build businesses and brands otherwise. At the launch party announcing the partnership between his SMS Audio company and fashion chain Henri Bendel, Fif talked music, headphones and expressed support for Miley Cyrus.

50 Cent greeted fans at a launch party at the New York Henri Bendel location Wednesday (December 4) night. Visitors lined up to meet the Queens rapper, and to also purchase some of his SMS Audio items. According to 50 Cent, the selling of his audio product alongside fashion accessories makes sense.

From The Huffington Post:

“I think it’s going to be great. It’s organic; it made perfect sense to me,” 50, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, said in an interview with HuffPost Entertainment. “When you want to make high-quality audio, you need to find high-quality consumers, and the consumers who consistently shop here are the ones who will make that sacrifice.”

After rebooting some of SMS Audio’s flagship products, such as the STREET and SYNC headphone lines, 50 Cent is also moving into the wireless home speaker market. But aside from hawking headphones, 50 Cent couldn’t avoid the new music question.

While he was vague regarding the release of the long-awaited Street King Immortal, he did promise a new body of work in January. But it was his support of Miley Cyrus, Big Sean and others that seemed to contrast with his musical image of the past.

“I’ve really been enjoying Big Sean’s ‘Beware,’ Drake’s ‘Started From The Bottom’ and I’m a Miley Cyrus fan,” he said. And in regards to Cyrus 50 Cent added, “You can’t have artists just sitting in a box. Sometimes you build your own restraints and you prevent yourself from doing the things you truly want to do.”
