Now that Grammy nominations are out in the open, it’s time for reactions amongst critics and peers alike. On the Hip-Hop spectrum, the usual suspects such as Jay Z, Kanye West and Drake are in the running for various categories yet its the hungrier newcomers, Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis that are generating the most buzz.

The similarities between Game and Kendrick Lamar run deep and the OKE sculptor was one of the first to speak up about the announcement.

“Man I’m so proud of that dude; that’s my little homie,” the rapper expressed his excitement to MTV.

Although Game has never actually a Grammy himself, he’d rather congratulate than to spew out aimless hate. The two collaborated on Game’s fourth studio effort, The R.E.D. Album and they both hail from the city of Compton so their bond is bigger than just the typical rapper relationship.

R&B crooner, Miguel also shared similar sentiments. He, like Game, also joined forces with Kendrick on the hit “How Many Drinks” earlier this year. “Kendrick is not following in anyone’s footsteps. He’s on his own path and he’s killing it, as you can see,” he told MTV.

The Grammys air live from Los Angeles on January 26, 2014 and the excitement is already building. Watch the video below and then hit the next page to see Macklemore & Ryan Lewis discuss their seven nominations.
