Long Island Newsday reports:

A California man was arrested Wednesday after a Nassau County police officer posing as a UPS driver delivered a 25-pound box of marijuana to a house in Elmont — and he retrieved it from the front steps.

Police said David Banks, 47, of 1109 Fairview Blvd., Inglewood, Calif., was arrested at the home on Lehrer Avenue at 4:45 p.m. He was charged with first-degree criminal possession of marijuana and faces arraignment Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.

Apparently, the jig was up before the illegal product made it to Banks’ doorstep.  The package with the kush was discovered by UPS, who contacted authorities.

Reportedly undercover officer and a K-9 team staked out the home while an officer dressed like UPS driver made the delivery.

It was a special delivery indeed.
