Famed actor/comedian Marlon Wayans has allowed Trae Tha Truth to pick up right where his Adventures of Trae Tha Truth web cartoon series left off by signing him to a ten-episode deal for his WhatTheFunny.com imprint (WTF).
The new deal and show, simply titled Trae, not only marks WTF Studios, Inc.’s first-ever cartoon series but allows Trae Tha Truth’s hilarious clique of Grey-D, JayTon, Boss, Purpa and Birdfeed to spread their pedigree of comedy on a much larger scale.
In a statement coinciding with the new announcement, Marlon Wayans expressed his enthusiasm saying, “We are very excited to have Trae Tha Truth on WTF?! It’s funny, real, edgy and it reeks of ‘I don’t give a F’, and neither do we. I think Trae Tha Truth’s audience will follow it to WhatTheFunny and expand from there,” the Haunted House actor exclaimed.
Omar Epps, who also serves as the series executive producer, enjoyed the original webisodes so much, he brought it to Marlon’s attention and the rest is apparently history.
The Houston all-star has been living out his label’s motto, Grand Hustle, in full since releasing his latest mixtape, I Am King which has gone on to be downloaded over 100,000 times.
