It’s hard to believe Virginia rapper Skillz’ “Rap-Up” series has been going strong for over a decade. As one of the industry’s sought after “ghostwriters” back when lyrics still meant a big deal to the radio, he found a niche by recapping the highlights of Hip-Hop throughout the year over a well-known beat picked at random.

Now one of rap’s most anticipated freestyles has a cousin and some endorsement to boot as Michael Smith and Jemele Hill’s ESPN lovechild, Numbers Never* Lie gets a Hip-Hop rundown. In just under four minutes, Skillz reminds of us all the f*ckery and feats the sports world had to offer.

While on beat, Skillz doesn’t miss a beat dropping rhymes about Robinson Cano, the Boston Marathon and Jason Kidd’s “Spillgate.”

Listen to the audio/watch the slideshow video below and hold tight for the Hip-Hop version. You know it’s right around the corner.
