The popular Duck Dynasty reality series ran into a little controversy last month after Duck Commander founder and cast member Phil Robertson made some controversial statements. After Robertson’s suspension – and reinstatement – to the hit A&E show, the family adds to their already padded bank accounts with the announcement of a new line of guns.

Firearms manufacturer Mossberg partnered with Duck Commander last fall to release nine shotguns, as well as two semiautomatic rifles and a pistol. Although there isn’t a set timeline for the release of the firearms, Mossberg has already begun shipping the product to unnamed national retailers according to CNN Money.

From CNN Money:

Mossberg says the Duck Commander guns will come in a “waterfowl pattern” camouflage design, though not all of them are intended for duck hunting. They also bear the Duck Commander logo, of a duck in flight.

The pistol and one of the rifles have military-style designs with large capacity magazines holding at least 25 rounds. The rifle has some of the features of an assault rifle, but with a relatively low .22 caliber.

Mossberg’s Web site says its .22-caliber pistol is “perfect for small game, plinking, target shooting — or clearing cottonmouths out of your duck blind.”

For a neat bonus, the guns also comes with bandana emblazoned with the United States flag just like cast member Willie wears because, well, America.

The Duck Dynasty franchise certainly doesn’t appear to be going anywhere soon after this latest merchandising deal.
