Nike is going high end couture. Designer Riccardo Tisci, who is currently Givenchy’s creative director, has revealed that he has collaborated with the famed athletic apparel brand.
The partnership will fly under the NIKE RT moniker and is due in stores, and Nike.com, in the Spring.
“For me, Nike represents a lot: my childhood, America,” Tisci told Style.com. “”In Europe, America is the flag, McDonald’s, Marlboro, and Nike, for a kid it’s very important.”
Nike confirmed the collab. “We were impressed by his vision,siad Ian Ginoza, Nike’s Global Footwear Director. “I personally wear some of the t-shirts; that’s something that Riccardo does well, blurring the lines with street fashion.”
No word on what the collection will include, and the sure to be hefty price points, just yet.
We’re guessing Kanye West won’t be too enthused about his buddy Tisci’s power move, though.
