There comes a time in everyone’s life where they are clearly set up to fail and instead of overcoming such blatant adversity, they find a way to truly shove their foot down their mouth.

John Mayer isn’t a name that rings bells too much in the Hip Hop community, but he has worked extensively with the likes of Common, Kanye West and Jay Z.

His recent words during an interview with Playboy, however, may have revoked his license to play outside with the Black community after stating that Black people loved him.

“Someone asked me the other day.  ‘What does it feel like now to have a hood pass?’  And by the way, it’s sort of a contradiction in terms, because if you really had a hood pass, you could call it a ni**er pass.”

Once the foot was inserted, it only dug deeper into his throat.

“I can’t really have a hood pass.  I’ve never walked into a restaurant, asked for a table and been told, ‘We’re full.’”

And people sit and wonder why the white community is rare in Hip Hop.  Clearly their mouth gets the best of them once they get a little too comfortable.

It gets even worse when asked if Black women throw themselves at him.

“I don’t think I open myself to it.  My package is sort of like a white supremacist.  I’ve got a Benetton heart and a f*c*in’ David Duke cock.  I’m going to start dating separately from my package.”

Man, Playboy, why let him succumb to such things.

Whether it was all meant in jest or just his true expressions, the Black community has responded, primarily through Twitter.

Noreaga  Playboy set his A$$ up good on black history month!!!!!  I hope he suck a cow package!!!  Gone!!!

JoellOrtiz John Mayer will get off the hook just like Asher Roth did.  Throw money, a lame apology and some good PR at us and we forget.

Da*n.  And of all months too. John Mayer, we have to do better man.

We’re still waiting too.

UPDATE: Mayer apologizes for his words during the interview.
