If you found it slightly odd to see Kid ‘N Play appear in a Super Bowl commercial (even if it was geared towards 80s relics), don’t hinge on being surprised for too long.

The original Chris-cross, light skin/dark skin, rapping duo is officially back.

Instead of creeping back into the game, kicking old man struggle raps and releasing free mixtapes on DatPiff, Christopher “Kid” Reid and Christopher “Play” Martin have regained their footing on the turf which brought them the most popularity.

Acting. Comedic acting to be exact.

Their House Party movies remain pillars in Hip-Hop’s centered universe which in turn, made it possible for rappers such as Ice Cube to uphold their studio persona and still make laugh-outloud art that transformed into box-office smashes.

For their latest endeavor, 2014 finds the duo launching a new online series titled Funny Business, where the ying-and-yang play loose variations of themselves as they’re forced to operate a comedy club as a last resort for money woes.

The first episode also stars comedy vets DC Curry, Deon Cole, Gary Owen, Chuck Deezy, Pierre and Joe Claire so you know it isn’t something that was thrown together 15 minutes after the Radio Shack commercial aired.

Check out the first episode below and you should be convinced.
