Combat Jack, one of the most popular personalities today, has been a fixture of Hip-Hop culture in a variety of capacities. With his long-running podcast and radio program, The Combat Jack Show, and other ventures, the entertainment attorney and author had plenty to share at a recent TED Talk event in Brooklyn.

Combat Jack, also know as Reggie Ossé, appeared at the TEDxGowanus event as a speaker as part of the Gowanus area’s focus on creating awareness in the Brooklyn neighborhood. Combat Jack’s talk, titled “Living Inside and Outside the Hip-Hop Revolution,” touched upon the evolution of the culture and art form.

Combat Jack also shared details about how he discovered Hip-Hop music via mixtapes, how his former client Jay Z influenced him and others before becoming a global icon and other fine points about growing up in and around Hip-Hop culture. Other key points of the talk was Combat Jack sharing how he still concerns himself with standing out in certain areas as a Black man, being a father and husband, and much more.
