R&B singer and “The Color Purple” play star Fantasia Barrino now has to beef up her security.

The former “American Idol” winner received a threatening letter last night after her performance at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles.

According to TMZ, her manager said the singer became more than worried after reading the letter filled with racial slurs including “N**er” and a line that read “go back where you came from and die.”

The person who scribed the letter is also said to have worked at Fox when she was a contestant on “American Idol.”

Police were immediately notified and security has been increased around the venue and precautions and inspections are being conducted on everything sent to her dressing room.

Keeping her spirits up and going on with the show, Fantasia also told TMZ,

“I will not be defeated by one isolated person’s hatred.”
