NBC’s The Voice may have lost the eclectic soulfulness of Goodie mobber Cee Lo Green but trust the prestigious network had the best possible replacement lined-up in the wing.

Pharrell Williams.

The show excitedly announced that the Academy Award-nominated artist would be taking the reigns as the new host for Season 7, and naturally, they were “Happy.”

Reports US Weekly:

Thus far, this is the first official announcement regarding casting for season 7. The current season, which is moving into its second stage of battle rounds tonight, features original coaches Blake Shelton and Adam Levine and returning coaches Usher and Shakira.

Christina Aguilera is sitting this season out, and has recently gotten engaged to love Matt Rutler, with whom she is expecting her second child, and confirmed that she is pregnant with a baby girl.

Cee Lo Green announced in February 2014 that he wouldn’t be returning to the show ever again.

The Voice’s official Twitter account posted several hints at the show’s new coach, sharing images of his skateboard, personalized Adidas, and even his now-famous Grammys hat.

Pharrell is no stranger to the show, either. Just last year, he guest hosted during the battle rounds. The active Neptune’s plate was already reaching buffet-like proportions and this new endeavor is just the cherry on top.

Aside from a new shoe deal with adidas and taking on SNL later this month, he’s also scoring the entire soundtrack for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

The lead single “It’s On Again,” produced by him and featuring Alicia Keys and Kendrick Lamar was just released today.
