TDE’s songbird SZA drops her Z EP on April 8, but fans who pre-order the project will receive two songs early. One it titled “Sweet November,” and it’s absolutely groovy.
Fluttering guitar strings give the track a cosmic 1970s feel (think Kool and The Gang’s “Summer Madness” aesthetically), while SZA’s other releases have been much hazier. If anything, this record gives a better indication of how her style fits on other sorts of production. Also, Marvin Gaye is credited as a producer on the cut, so there’s that.
Pre-order Z via iTunes. Stream “Sweet November” below.
