Early Wednesday morning (April 16), news of a Wu-Tang affiliated rapper who attempted suicide set the viral world ablaze. Today, the Wu-Tang Clan officially says rapper Christ Bearer, born Andre Johnson, who cut off his penis and then jumped off a balcony, is “not affiliated with the Wu-Tang Brand.”
Christ Bearer, who was discovered as part of the duo Northstar by Wu-Tang producer RZA, released RZA Presents Northstar in 2004. He has also been associated with Wu-Tang spinoff, West Coast Killa Beez, and rocked the group’s paraphernalia in his latest video below.
But to add insult to injury, the Wu made clear they no longer run in the same circles with said rapper. A now-deleted post on Wutangclan.com read, “Parental Advisory : Don’t Believe The HYPE. This Mother F-cker Ain’t Got Sh*t to do with The WUTANG Brand,” according to Gawker.
Though the post has been deleted, the Wu-Tang blog is currently running a TMZ story about Johnson’s alleged suicidal episode (insert side eyes).
Johnson’s tragic case is capped off with news that doctors are unable to ever reattach the rapper’s penis.
