President Barack Obama is on the other side of the world, but still the topic of LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling’s racist comments came up. Needless to say, Obama was keen on pointing out Sterling’s ignorance.

Reports TMZ:

Obama spoke to reporters in Malaysia during his diplomatic mission, but things quickly turned domestic in the wake of the audiotape TMZ Sports posted.

Obama said Sterling’s comments are an example of how “the United States continues to wrestle with the legacy of race and slavery and segregation.”

The Prez also went on to say “That’s still there, the vestiges of discrimination. We’ve made enormous strides, but you’re going to continue to see this percolate up every so often.”

Obama — who called Sterming’s remarks “incredibly offensive” — said he’s confident NBA Commish Adam Silver will do the right thing.
