People are growing concerned with popular super store, Walmart after pictures posted to a website showed Black Barbie dolls being sold for significantly less than their white counterparts.
The pictures first appeared on popular Latino website Guanbee.com and show Mattel’s Ballerina Barbie and Ballerina Theresa dolls.
The dolls are completely alike except for their skin color.
The white dolls are marked $5.93 while the Black dolls are on sale for $3.00.
A spokesman for Walmart has since reported that the markdown was simply an attempt to clear store inventory to make room for Mattel’s new spring items.
