An African American family in Auburn, Michigan was surprised when their family Easter egg hunt turned hateful after children found racist notes stuffed in their Easter eggs.
The family found several plastic eggs tossed in their yard with hateful messages inside, some of which had the messages included the “N” word and references to the Aryan Nation.
A little boy discovered one of the eggs in the midst of the family activity and was surprised.
“He was shocked. He didn’t know what it was, he thought it was the Easter bunny,” Shamir Lyles, a neighbor who said she watched a girlfriend’s son open one of the eggs.
“I was really shocked. I mean, you know the feelings are out there and the thoughts are there, but to just be openly displayed like this … I was really kind of shocked this happened in our area.”
According to the AP, neighbors notified the authorities and police said they are investigating but no arrests were made as of press time.
SMDH, what is the world coming to, when grown men/women are trying to affect the innocents of children…and during an Easter egg hunt?! These sickos need to really get it together.
