An aspiring rapper was killed after a man shot at him and his friend over his baby’s mom.
According to 10TV, Tyrone Lee of Columbus, Ohio died on Saturday night [April 10], after being shot as he walked through a neighborhood with a friend after leaving a recoding studio.
“This was not God’s will for that boy to shoot my son,” said Lee’s mother, Beverly Martin told 10TV.
Lee, who went by the stage name “Philly”, was an innocent bystander who was at the wrong place at the wrong time according to police.
Marcus Payne, who was with Lee at the time of the shooting, states the bullets were meant for him, because he and the alleged shooter have children with the same woman.
He said he believes the shooting was from an old grudge.
Although police have arrested the alleged shooter Darel McEwen after he turned himself in, Lee’s family states that he was a future star gone too soon:
“He’d be in the shower and he’d be rapping,” Martin said. “He always told me ‘I’m going to be big, I’m going to be big.”
According to investigators, Lee was walking along the street with two others when he was shot.
The other two men who were walking with Lee were not hurt.
