NFL players from the New York Giants and Jets made the annual Gridiron Gala successful once again by illuminating The Waldorf Astoria in their best attire, yesterday May 13.
Among the attendees were Giants stars Victor Cruz, Stevie Brown and Jets’ standouts Quinton Coples, Willie Colon and legendary quarterback Joe Namath. The event tends to always fall after the NFL Draft, giving active players in the Tri-State area a reason to don their suits in the offseason once again.
Sheena Wright, first female president and CEO of United Way of New York City in its 75-year existence was also present as was the lead sports anchor of WNBC-TV, Bruce Beck, who hosted the gala.
All proceeds taken in from the event go towards the support of United Way activities that benefit New York City’s at-risk children and youth. A noble cause.
