New York Man Steals Bread Truck, Makes Deliveries To The Wrong Places
David Bastar “dropped a lot of bread off” after he jacked the Grimaldi’s Home of Bread truck last Monday (May 19), store owner Joe Grimaldi said. The hired driver was making deliveries to a pizzeria on the upper West Side when Bastar crept up and stole the truck.
He went galavanting through the Big Apple unloading as much as $8,000 worth of bread, then he got busted tailgating a random driver which led him to LaGuardia Airport. Police concluded that the truck he was driving was stolen that same morning.
“It’s a bizarre incident but nothing happened to the truck. No one was hurt. There was no damage. I got my truck back,” said Grimaldi of Queens. The company was able to accommodate all of the customer’s Bastar missed on his half-naked joyride.
No one knows where the bread ended up. According to Grimaldi it was “left somewhere.”
Bastar was taken to a hospital for observation. He was with charged with criminal possession of stolen goods and driving without a license.
