Actress Lee Chamberlin, famed for her role on The Electric Company—and cult film Uptown Saturday Night—passed away on May 25 in Chapel Hill, N.C. She was 76.

The New York Times reports that the cause of death was metastatic cancer according to her son Matthew. Although Chamberlin lived in Paris, she was visiting him in Chapel Hill at the time of her passing.

The New York City born Chamberlin played Madame Zenobia, hostess of her namesake underground nightclub/casino, in the Bill Cosby and Sidney Poitier comedy film Uptown Saturday Night. She also had a role in the pair’s Let’s Do It Again.

Rest In Power Lee Chamberlin.
