Unless you have been dodging your Hip-Hop news feed this week, you already know that G-G-G-Unit is officially back in a major way.

After dominating headlines at this year’s Hot 97 Summer Jam with their reunion and mid-show fisticuffs fiasco, the crew is currently celebrating the release of 50 Cent’s new album, Animal Ambition: An Untamed Desire To Win (out today).

With the most swift of turnarounds, the Unit released a remix of Drake’s new song featuring all of its lifetime members in Fiddy, Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo and Young Buck. New Orleans rapper Kidd Kidd has been riding with Fiddy for the entire G-Unit transition from major label to the independent circuit and he’s also the only one to appear on the new project.

As if the Hip-Hop community gave a damn.

Despite the nearly universal acclaim for the record as a whole, Kidd Kidd fell victim to the ass end of a trending topic. Whether it was nostalgic fans not receptive to change or just hating another southerner in the mix when Young Buck already holds down that lane, the backlash was pretty fierce.

For what it’s worth, we didn’t see anything wrong with Kidd²’s verse but we’re clearly in the minority here.

Peep what the people had to say in the numbered slides below. The track in question can be found here.
