Gillie Da Kid is readying his King of Philly 3 mixtape for a June 11 release. Roughly a week in advance, the veteran rhymer drops his new street heater, “Shootaz,” featuring Waka Flock Flame, Freeway, and Kief Brown.
The premise of the record is pretty much self explanatory. The Major Figgas member reached out to Sonny Digital for some booming production to match his energetic rapping style. Gillie and Waka Flocka sound right at home on these kinds of beats, but it’s interesting to hear how Philly Freezer adapts to a cut that’s outside of his comfort zone. And last, but not least, Brown laced the rap veteran with a catchy chorus to make the cypher complete.
