Catfish has taught a 19-year-old girl in Alabama nothing about the online world. A woman wanted to snoop on hear niece and teach her about the dangers of online relationships, by creating a fake Facebook profile and befriending 19-year-old Marissa Williams.
Williams was living with her aunt when she asked a person whose name she thought was Tre “Topdog” Ellis, to kill her whole family –including her aunt, and the family dog. She was arrested on solicitation of murder charges.
The girl moved in with her aunt in April and had been inviting men that she met online over to the house. During her first correspondence with her aunt posing as Ellis, Williams invited “him” over to the house and offered to have sex for $50.
As they talked more, Williams asked her Facebook buddy to kidnap her and later mentioned the murder plot. The aunt, whose name is being withheld, wasn’t going to contact authorities at first, until Williams added in the murder details. She asked that Ellis shoot and kill her aunt if she tried to stop the kidnapping.” The details became “intricate and sinister” thereafter,” the criminal report states.
Williams is being held on $30,000 bond at the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. Although she confessed to the plot, Williams apologized and claims she didn’t want her aunt killed.
