Robin Thicke’s goal is clear on his new single “Get Her Back,” an earnest attempt at apologizing to his now estranged wife Paula Patton. The crooner has returned with a visual for the cut, which is, well, a very heavy watch.
Thicke, whose physically bruised and battered appearance in the clip could be symbolic of how he’s feeling inside, sings from the soul in an ominous setting. Text messages of a conversation between the two pop up on screen, though it’s unclear if they’re authentic or contrived. Nevertheless, his pain shows throughout the treatment.
“Get Her Back” will appear on the singer-songwriter’s upcoming album Paula, due is stores July 1. Check out the video below.
