The ongoing saga between Nas and Kelis continues.

Nas has reportedly asked a federal judge to consider lowering the substantial amount he pays his estranged wife in spousal and child support.

As previously reported Nasir and Kelis have been having an ongoing court battle complete with a contempt of court charge filed against Nas and Kelis being awarded over $51,000 in monthly payments.

Most recently, Kelis asked for a rush on their divorce settlement saying,

I believe there is no possibility of reconciliation with [Nas].”

Since then Nas was ordered to pay Kelis $87,000 in late spousal and child support and was told to pay Kelis $10,000 in monthly spousal support to cover the close to $300,000 he owes her in back payments.

The money allocated to the singer is based on the estimation that Nas makes over $150,000 a month but TMZ reports that he’s disputing those claims saying he makes “significantly less than that amount.”

TMZ reports that Nas’ lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan is asking the judge to reconsider the monthly payments because of the financial strain it’s causing him.

No word on if the judge accepted his request.

Let’s hope for his sake that they finally settle this once and for all.
