In what was a surprise to no one, Nicki Minaj won Best Female Hip-Hop artist at the BET Awards last night. What was notable was the shade she hurled towards Iggy Azalea during her acceptance speech.

In a speech with some notable factual errors (she said BET is Black owned, but actually, it’s a Viacom property) and a weird tangent about ducking TMZ, Minaj raised eyebrows when she commented on rappers that use ghostwriters.

“My point is, what I want the world to know about Nicki Minaj…is when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it,” she said. The YMCMB rapper would utter “No shade,” multiple times, but the shade was in full effect.
