The-Dream switched gears when he delivered “Black,” a culturally conscious that almost felt like a response to the Donald Sterling controversy happening at the time. Today, he returns with a visual for the record.

The smooth sounds of piano stir emotion, as the Atlanta singer-songwriter leads a peaceful protest in South Africa. Backed by individuals of all demographics, he expresses his feelings of discontent with how minorities are viewed. Lyrics like “Reminiscing back to when Hilfiger made us feel like ni**as,” stick out like a sore thumb, but tie in with the central theme of feeling extremely Black in a whitewashed society.

The-Dream is prepping his new album, Fruition, to release later this year. Stream the video for “Black” below.
