Columbus, OH’s very own Fly Union understand that the journey to rap dominance is a marathon and not a sprint. Which is why they have titled their new release Small Victories.
Since their last entry into the MP3 gene pool, the trio consisting of Jerreau, JaySwifa and iYe have found themselves connecting dots across the map, as they have sought to achieve said rap dominance. There were placements on NBA 2K14, Samsung advertisements and ESPN segments. And at throughout a chunk of 2013, they found themselves touring the country for BET Music Matters with some guy named Kendrick Lamar.
Small Victories is a culmination of the entire journey leading to that point with bigger plateaus around the corner. The 13-track LP features vibrant production from JaySwifa and iYe and the centered lyricism of Jerreau. As their name suggests, they harness their strength to a minimum so copious amounts of guest appearances aren’t needed but Casey Veggies and BJ The Chicago Kid both show up to trade barbs with the crew.
