Because Twitter is such an addictive space, celebrities often speak their mind a bit too quickly on certain issues. In the case of Rihanna, Dwight Howard and others, their #FreePalestine tweets in the wake of the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict raised a few eyebrows.

Earlier today, Rihanna posted “#FreePalestine” to Twitter with no other comments. The tweet was only up for eight minutes before it was deleted. Although the Barbadian beauty is typically embracing of controversy, the deletion of the post is a curious one. But Rih-Rih was not alone in this potential PR snafu.

Over the weekend, Howard tweeted and then promptly deleted his pro-Palestine tweet amid the growing chatter. Howard later issued an apology and added he shouldn’t be involved in international politics.

Waka Flocka and French Montana also jumped into the fray with the #FreePalestine tag, although they’ve largely continued their controversial stances even at the risk of their brand.

According to TMZ, the long-standing Zionist Organization of America is angered at Howard’s tweets and wants the NBA to punish him accordingly as they did former Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling.

What is your opinion on this? Should celebrities butt out of international politics and debate? Which side are you on? Let us know in the comments after peeping the tweets on the following pages.
