How does a model go missing for two weeks with barely a blip of media notice? That’s what happened to Ataui Deng, who has reportedly been “found” in a New York City hospital.
DNA Info Reports that Deng, 22, is in a local hospital where she checked herself in under a different name.
Deng was reported missing on August 16 by her boyfriend Grant Monohon. However, this was 10 days after he last say her in midtown on West 48th St. near the nightclubs XVI Lounge and The Attic.
It wasn’t after police sought aid in finding the statuesque model that hospital workers realized that she was the same woman they were treating.
Deng, who is renowned model Alex Wek’s niece, was born in Khartoum, Sudan, before moving to to San Antonio, Texas as a teen.
Why Deng is in the hospital has not been made public. Although friends and family say Deng has been known to take off for a day or two, it’s a safe bet there is more to this story.
