Hip-Hop fans need all but a machete to cut through the fluff of filler tunes laden with monotonous production, gimmicky hooks, and lackluster bars. When the path is cleared, however, it’s much easier to discover up and comers like Khary Durgans.

Always prepped for any climate change, the 21-year-old can often be spotted with his trusty yellow raincoat. However, his trusty pen and pad greatly outweighs his branding piece, a fact that’s clear on his apltly titled new track, “The Yellow Raincoat (Part 3),” featuring Fresh Daily.

Durgans is an able lyricist with the ability to wax poetics with a dexterous flow. To put it simply, son can rhyme. “Gotta make sure that my fam strizzy/ So even if I make a million, I’m worth nothing more than my Aunt Penny,” he raps over production by Prof Logik.

Veteran Brooklyn wordsmith, Daily, assists like Tim Hardaway with a stellar verse in the Run TMC-esque trio’s fold.

Durgans’ “Yellow Raincoat” series is a sign of things to come. He’s currently readying a new body of work, set to release sooner than later. For now, feast your ears on “The Yellow Raincoat (Part 3)” below, as well as his previously released Love + Anchors project.
