When Miley Cyrus announced she was getting naked for her “Wrecking Ball” video, it had everybody rush to see on its first day out in record-breaking fashion.

When Nicki Minaj revealed that she gave Drake a lap dance for her “Anaconda” video, the people did the exact same thing.

Which is why she has the new VEVO record.

Via The Wrap:

Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” video proved that she’s got buns, hun — and now she’s got a new Vevo viewer record.

The highly anticipated — and highly salacious — “Anaconda” video earned 19.6 million views in the 24 hours following its midnight Aug. 19 Vevo premiere, the best-ever for the music video site.

In doing so, Minaj bested Miley Cyrus, whose “Wrecking Ball” music video set the previous Vevo record of 19.3 million views in September 2013.

Since the debut, “Anaconda” has been among the top trending topics on social media. In its first 24 hours of release, “#AnacondaVideoOnVevo” delivered 854 million estimated impressions from 145,267 Twitter mentions by 95,412 users.

Ownership of this record is not uncharted territory for Minaj. The rapper previously set Vevo’s most-watched record, twice — her collaboration with Justin Bieber for “Beauty and a Beat” received 10.6 million views in October 2012, and “Stupid Hoe” got 4.8 million viewers in January 2012.

Six of Minaj’s videos have been “Certified” by Vevo, getting more than 100 million views.

Some of Nicki’s more shameless fans decided to celebrate by posting #AnacondaSelfies. Have a gander at them in the slideshow below.
