Contrary to popular belief, Stalley didn’t rise to prominence when he signed to Rick Ross’ Maybach Music imprint. It was his formal debut Lincoln Way Nights: Intelligent Trunk Music with Ohio producer Rashad Thomas that placed his name amongst rap’s elite crop of newcomers.

From that point on, the thought-provoking MC has been building momentum without the traditional co-signs that has led up to the announcement of his major label debut which he simply–and fittingly–titled Ohio.

In a new vlog, Stalley explains that his debut album comes at a “pivotal time in his career” and will definitely please anyone who comes within earshot of the record.

“I’m really trying to give the people that sound again and get deeper into what ‘we’ started,” the bearded artist outlined. “It’s music that’s built for the cause but you can also enjoy it in your headphones or the computer, however you want to listen to it.”

Longtime fans will be pleased to know that Rashad is playing an integral role on the project as he breaks down the LP’s makeup. “The basis will definitely be a Ohio upbringing and the quality of the Midwest we want to bring to the table. I don’t think there’s been a clear representation of where we come from and that’s [our] main goal that it’s a cohesive idea of what we’re representing,” the acclaimed beatsmith stated.
