It’s hard to believe that a MC as talented and formidable as Ludacris has released an official solo studio album in four years but here we stand.

The animated ATLien was the man of the hour at the 2014 BMI R&B & Hip-Hop Awards on August 22 and Hip-Hop Wired decided to finally see what the real deal was with his much delayed LP, Ludaversal. An excited Luda assured us that it would be “his most personal album to date,” given the time it has taken him to perfect it up to this point.

And there has much of “personal” material to garner inspiration from. At the tail end of 2013, Ludacris was slapped with a highly publicized paternity suit that found he was indeed the father of an infant child and he was equally as affected as the rest of the Fast & Furious cast members at the abrupt death of Paul Walker. Although he admits that the album is 100% finalized (including the tentative November 2014 release date), it does have plenty of “personal experiences,” meaning we can finally get the authentic story of the aforementioned events.

Take a look at the exclusive BMI interview above.
