Kill all of your inclinations and forum whispers that Your Old Droog and a disguised Nas are one in the same. Just over a week shy of the MC’s show at New York City’s Webster Hall, a visual of him rhyming emphatically has released and he’s clearly not the Queensbridge legend.
Do your Googles, Internets. A quick search of Droog’s name would have cleared the air if Hip-Hop fans were more accepting of his identity early on. But honestly, the fact the the Brooklyn native isn’t Escobar doesn’t change a thing. Quite frankly, the guy has bars–a lot of them.
That’s proven in the clip, in which he delivers a potent verse with the Nas-like cadence that inspired an uproar earlier this summer. Peep some of his bars below.
Quit it with them “blaaats: and “booka bookas”
I heard your man went to jail and they took his tuchus
Then gave it back, stay kissing a$$ that’s why you say you spit crack
Your crews with you, knowing that sh*t wack
I get it right the first time cause it’s hard to reenact
Surprised I made it out with my integrity in tact
