In unfortunate news, 2014’s streak of plane crashes has continued with a plane out of New York crashing in alongside the coast of Jamaica.
Billionaire Larry Glazer and his wife Jane have been confirmed dead at the scene.
Reports NYDailyNews:
Developer Larry Glazer, to whom the plane is registered, was on board with his wife, Jane, according to a tweet from WROC TV.
Glazer’s son, Rick Glazer, told the Associated Press: “I don’t have any comment about what’s going on at this time.”
F-15 pilots that had been trailing the plane could see a pilot slumped over, a NORAD official said according to CNN. The windows had been frosted and it was unclear how much fuel was left.
Three people were believed to be on board the 7-seat Socata TBM-700, a light business and utility aircraft, ABC reported.
The plane is registered to a development, Buckingham Properties at 359 Alexander St., which is owned by Glazer, the Democrat & Chronicle reported. He was not able to be reached Friday afternoon, and his company did not answer calls.
