CNN anchor Kyra Phillips publicly apologized on behalf of CNN after a Coolio song with the dreaded “N” word was played during a news segment.

“We aired some music just a few minutes ago, and, obviously for those of you that heard it, it was the wrong music that aired,” Phillips said shortly thereafter. “We apologize for that. It was a terrible mistake. And we’re working very hard to make up for it.”

Peep the video of the mistake after the jump.

The fitting Coolio song “Fantastic Voyage,” was played during a segment about a 103 year old woman in Coatsville, Pennsylvania who is still driving.

The lyrics played during the segment were:

“Ain’t no bloodin’, Ain’t no crippin’ / Ain’t no punk-a** n***a’s set trippin’ / everybody’s got a stack and it ain’t no crack / and it really don’t matter…”

If you ask me, I think CNN should be apologizing for playing a Coolio song period!
