The feeling of hopelessness is one of the key themes on Vince Staples’ Hell Can Wait EP. That fact is most apparent on the intro track “Fire,” which receives a proper visual treatment today.

The Long Beach rapper is frantic as he runs into a church seeking a priest’s advice. Upon his entrance in the confession booth, the man of the cloth quickly notices that he’s offering counsel to a young man whose experiences outweigh his years.

“I’m probably finna go to hell anyway,” Staples chants emphatically on the hook. The bars follow suit, as the up and comer details his gang affiliations on the record.
