Rising rapper Khary Durgans delivered a visual for “The Giving Tree,” the inaugural release of All Def Digital’s new series “The Signal.”

The song’s title is a derivative of Shel Silverstein’s famous children’s book. Durgans, the director of the clip, takes viewers to the woods, where he likens himself to the tree in Silverstein’s story. The MC rhymes from an existential point of view, detailing his willingness to better the culture by leaving things behind for its benefit.

“When I die, and they bury me in earth, I just hope a greater plant was planted first, so you can take from me, so you can take from me, so you can take from me,” Durgans raps on the chorus.

“The Giving Tree” will appear on Durgans’ Swim Team EP, due to release some time in November. Meanwhile music fans can look for more music videos from up and coming artists to drop via All Def Digital’s “The Signal.”
