The artist (kind of) formally known as Lil Boosie is still awaiting his verdict on the release of next studio album, but he’s not waiting on a jury of his music executive peers to decide when he can feed the streets. From out of almost nowhere, the reinvigorated Boosie Badazz has let loose the new Life After Deathrow mixtape, which answers a lot of unanswered questions stemming from his five-year prison sentence in the Louisiana State Penitentiary.

Look no further than the street album’s intro, “Murder Was the Case” for Boosie to dive head first in peeling back the layers to show his return to celebrity came at a hefty price. Tracks like “Trouble” and “I’m Coming Home” continue the theme that Boosie’s “life” when he was in the belly of beast wasn’t no Martha Stewart vacation.

A few scattered guest appearances from Trey Songz, Shy Glizzy and Yo Gotti add a bit of variation but for the most part, Life After Deathrow is a totalitarian escape of Boosie’s ventilation, pent-up frustration and aggression.

Stream and download the Mr. Badazz’s new project below. He’s home and it appears things will stay that way for good.
