As both Ice T and Big Daddy Kane artfully noted in song, pimpin’ ain’t easy. It also isn’t legal and certainly not kosher for high schools students. Yet police say a pair of teens were running a prostitution ring out of a trio Florida high schools, employing students to work for them which also led to the arrest of an older man.

The two teens, a 17-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy, were the main arm of the prostitution ring across the three Sarasota County high schools said police on Tuesday (Nov. 25). The cops were alerted after four students attending Venice High School in Venice, Fla. came forth about the ring back in October.

USA Today has more:

“The motive behind it: money and alcohol, trading money and alcohol for sex,” said Capt. Tom Mattmuller of the Venice Police Department.

“That’s awful that she would do that,” said Emily Smith, 16, of Sarasota High School. “She is not even old enough to drink.”

Using a search warrant, police looked at the Facebook page of the girl accused of operating the prostitution ring and found a business plan with rates such as $50 to $70 for oral sex and $100 for sex with a virgin. The cut for prostitutes: 40%.

Why pimp out old hoes when I have fresh young hoes I can give up for money?” the girl, also a Sarasota High student, wrote in one Facebook exchange with a business partner. Her identity and the identity of the boy, a former student at Venice High, are not being released because they are minors; both have been arrested and charged with human trafficking.

The girl used Facebook’s private messenger, SnapChat, and other social media tools to set up arrangements and meetings with clients. Her movements online led to the arrest of 21-year-old John Michael Mosher, who allegedly paid $40 and gave a bottle of alcohol to a female 15-year-old Riverview High School student in exchange for sex.

The investigation is ongoing, and the school district has yet to make public comments on the developing case.
