A 2-year-old Milwaukee boy is dead this morning after police say he got a hold of his parent’s handgun and accidentally shot himself in the face.
Little Zaire Cameron died Sunday after finding a .38 caliber pistol in the top drawer of his mother’s dresser.
According to a medical report, his mother found him touching the weapon a day before and reprimanded him before putting the gun back in its place.
On Sunday however the boy was reportedly watching a movie with two other children in his parent’s bedroom when he found the gun again, took it out and accidentally shot himself in the face.
The parents say they owned guns for protection but did not have locks for their weapons.
