This news will probably confuse most fully-initiated members of Black Greek-Letter Organizations (BGLOS). A Georgia chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. has instructed its members not to wear paraphernalia during Mike Brown and Eric Brown protests.

Reportedly, the instructions (see below) laid out by the Upsilon Alpha Omega chapter was in response to a member of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority being arrested with her letters on, and the image making it onto the Dallas Morning News.

We could see if said Delta was being arrested for public drunkenness. But there is nothing to be ashamed of for standing up for civil rights, something all BGLOs take pride in fighting for, right?

The national office of the sorority itself issued a statement expressing “disappointment” in the grand jury’s decision not to prosecute Eric Garner’s killer, as well as Mike Brown’s.

Do you think this AKA chapter is bugging out or do they have a point? Let us know in the comments.
