Erick Sermon returns with a new track called “One Shot,” featuring Masspike Miles.

The Green Eyed Bandit uses the cut to express the focus it needs to overcome obstacles, as he’s been doing his entire career, and deliver a message.

“When I made ‘One Shot,’ it was all about bringing Hip Hop back to its essence,” said Erick Sermon via a press release. “I want to bring meaningful music back to the forefront of Hip Hop. I believe people are ready to embrace music with a message, something that can uplift our culture and our community.”

Masspike of MMG fame holds down the hook over a pounding instrumental, courtesy of the E-Double himself. The track is off Sermon’s forthcoming new album ESP, due out in 2015 via Def Squad Records. The EPMD rapper a deal with a major label, we just can’t say which one just yet.
