The story of Ohio State University’s national championship winning quarterback Cardale Jones is what dreams are made of.

Initially the Buckeyes’ third string option, Jones was forced to step up his play after first and second options, Braxton Miller and J.D. Barrett, went down with injuries.

Jones and physically imposing Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliot led their team on the offensive end to a 42-20 win over an Oregon State team lead by this season’s Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota.

All facts considered, it’s difficult to believe that the former’s first start was just two games before in the Big Ten championship against, a 59-0 shutout that earned him MVP.

Jones then led the Buckeyes to a win over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. But even with those accolades, ESPN cited the third-year sophomore’s inexperience as a reason Ohio State lost the game.

Yes, you read that right.

The worldwide leader in sports posted an infographic prematurely, citing an Ohio State loss. The good folks at Deadspin caught on, though the image would remain on the ESPN site for over an hour before it was taken down.

Needless to say that ESPN’s forecasts (in their defense, they surely had a winning scenario ready as well) were incorrect.
